But wait, we don't own a dog...

There are many things that we love about our house but one thing that we don't love is being the house on the corner that all the dogs in the neighborhood like to call their own for certain things. This morning I grabbed my shovel (That we bought last year from Smithfield Implement's Crazy Days Sale for super cheap- I love that store) and a big black garbage sack to cleanup from the winter. So, this is kind of lame, but while I shoveled I counted- 58 doggie doo-doo piles later, I hope I haven't missed any that I'll get to scrub out of my carpet later.

So, I'm wondering, does anyone know any tricks I can try to prevent such things? The only one that I've heard of is pepper and I don't know if that would work but I'm seriously thinking about making a trip to Sam's Club for a huge container of it to sprinkle around. If it does I will definitely get my video camera out and video the dogs sneezing as they run away instead of pooing on my lawn and I'll be sure to figure out how to post that on my blog.

Crazy!!! I complain about leaves, but that is nothing compared to cleaning up after others!! I too have heard pepper, but don't know if it works. Let us know what you end up doing!! You're a brave soul!

I don't know about pepper--I would think it would on cats better, since they dig. I'll tell you what would work--a Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot Range Model air rifle BB gun with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time!

Failing that, maybe get a pet that dogs are scared of, like a lion or something.

Yuck! In High School poop scooping was my job because our dog Chewy belonged to me! It was never a fun job but at least I actually had a dog I loved - I imagine it is kind of like changing your own baby's diaper vs. changing a strangers diaper. It's always easier doing it when the poop owner belongs to you!

Forget the video of the dogs sneezing- I want to see a video of you sprinkling pepper all over your lawn!
Here are a few other ideas
