Welcome Lily Kate-

November 3rd was baby #4's due date...which came and went.  I was scheduled to be induced on Monday the 12th but I kept hoping I'd go into labor on my own so I could avoid Pitocin & IV's because I wanted to deliver without an epidural and didn't want to be tied to any tubes.  Luckily Sunday night around midnight the contractions became consistent!  I labored at home for a few hours but was a little nervous about making sure we made it to the hospital in time cause we barely made it when Isaac was born.  At 3 am we called my mom and headed to the hospital.  I was dilated to a 5 and because Isaac's delivery was so fast (like 2 1/2 hours) I wondered if we'd get to meet our little girl before the sunrise.  We got the best nurse that really helped us have the experience we wanted.  So the sun came and I think I was only dilated to a 7 or so and stayed at a 7 for like 3 hours.  While it was happening I didn't realize that I was stuck there for so long cause Matthew was in charge of timing contractions and being a superstar support for me.  By 1:00 pm  I finally dilated all the way and things got really intense. It's a crazy thing having a baby is.  I think we made our nurse a little nervous because I'd moved slowly there for a while and then all the sudden things started happening just after my doctor went in to deliver a baby by c-section- luckily she's crazy fast and came to our room in time.  For some reason our little girl was still sitting high in me so she finally moved down and the contractions came one on top of the other without any breaks which is good I guess cause it got the work done it needed to and we welcomed Lily Kate to the world!

Born 1:29 pm - 8 lbs 1 oz - 19 inches long

We were so happy to finally meet & see our little girl!
I love this picture because it was taken soon after she was born and I was so happy to not be in labor anymore!
Meeting little sister for the first time.
First bath-  I was so excited to get to see the first bath! It was fun to be in our room and not in the NICU!
It's so amazing how tiny they are and what a miracle life is.

Ava was so excited to finally meet her baby sister.
Isaac was pretty cute meeting Lily too- he wanted to hold her and give her a kiss.  This picture shows him with a closed mouth kiss but he usually gives more like a lick with his tongue.  He knew he was a big kid holding a tiny baby.

Owen was kind of nervous at first and didn't want to hold her but warmed up after seeing her.   Later he told me he was nervous cause he didn't know her :).

We are now a family of 6!
