End of June & Huff Reunion!

 Cute buddies.
Rainbow looming was a big craze at our house this summer.  Ava loved learning new things from watching videos and Owen just liked somebody to show him how to do it.
Thanks for the garden peas Grandpa!
Lily figured out that if she pushes a chair over to the counter that she can climb on top and discover all sorts of things.  On this day she learned that cookie dough is much funner that sourdough starter.

Huff Family Reunion 2014!

Aunt Elaine is here!  We had a yummy jamalaya dinner the first night.
Silly Grandpa.
We went for a hike from Tony's Grove Lake.  It was beautiful.
 There was still snow!
After we hiked for a while we got back to the lake and Matt & Owen wanted to hike a longer with David's family so Elaine, Ava, Lily, Isaac & I went on the mile trail around the lake to get back to our car instead of walking straight to our car.  I got some good muscle building in because Isaac was tired and so I got to hold him in the front with Lily in the pack on my back for most of the way around the trail.  Good times.  Good times.
 Playing at Grandma's house.

Love cousin time!

The little kids enthralled in Olivia's great stories!
Poor little Ava got bounced really high on the trampoline and came down wrong and cried different than she usually does and we thought she just sprained her bone.  She was tough and hobbled around pretty good for a week.  Then lucky for us her Uncle Daniel is a podiatrist so he did an ultrasound on it and we found out she actually had chipped the bone!

She loves an American Girl doll movie called "McKenna" where the girl breaks her leg doing gymnastics so Ava later told me that breaking her ankle & getting to wear a cast was her dream so she could be just like McKenna. Funny girl.
Our kids all wanted to sleep in the same room one night.
 So much fun!

Played in the sprinklers at Daniel & Sarah's house.

So fun to have cousins in town!
Poor baby Lucy was not feeling very good but still adorable.
 Lily loves her grandma!

And we fixed so.much.food for how many there was of us.

And poor Lily got sick so she had to leave the party a little early.  And the next day I stayed home with Isaac, Lily & Mabel while everyone else went to Lagoon and had a great day.
What a great family!
(Thanks for the great picture Sarah Huff!)

Wisconsin 2014- Part 3

On Tuesday we enjoyed a nice low key day.  Matt & Brian went to work for most of the day and Lexie and I cleaned up the house and chatted while the kids played.

On the way home from work, Brian & Matt got rear-ended.  They were fine but the car got smashed in the back pretty good and totalled it.

Reading books. They sure love their Uncle Brian.

On Wednesday morning we had a tornado warning first thing so we enjoyed some cereal and games in the basement.

After work for the dad's and naps for the littles, we went to Ella's Deli for ice cream and a carousel ride.
This is the ice cream I chose- It had everything!
Ava & Nora got their favorite cotton candy treats.

Then we went to the Madison Public Library.  It was so fun to relax and chill with some books.

When we came home Matt whipped up some creamy noodles, grilled chicken and broccoli.  Then the boys played the Wii and the girls had a tea party and watched An American Girl movie called Saige.

With 8 kids and 4 adults in the house we did so well sharing one bathroom!

On Thursday
Sophie & Ava were putting clothes on Scooter and laughing so hard.
 More games.
I picked up Matt & Brian from the library and they quickly found some good reading to be in the picture.
For lunch Matt & I got to go on a date! We went to a burger place called Dotty's near campus and ate some crazy good burgers.

That afternoon Lexie & I walked to a couple nearby parks.

Sophie & Isaac- such good buddies!
That night we watched the classic "Dennis the Menace" movie with popcorn.  We got the kids to bed and played Heads up Charades & QuizUp.

On Friday we got to visit campus and get some ice cream.

Then we went on a nature walk to Picnic Point.  It was so pretty and there were so many little frogs all over the kids had fun catching.

Isaac totally fell asleep like this on the walk back!

Nora & Ava loved to 'craft' together and had a craft sale one afternoon.  Sophie didn't really want to be part of the action but definitely wanted some of the money.
 Happy boys with their technology.
On the last night we had a good game of Ticket to Ride.
On Saturday morning we walked to another awesome, nearby park and passed Owen road on the way!

While we were there it rained on us!

These boys were sure cute together.
Cousins are the best! We are so glad we got to reconnect and be able to spend time together!  Love you guys!
As we were driving away after saying goodbye with some tears Owen said the thing he'd miss most is having Miles to play with all the time.  And the next day as Ava was doing her rainbow loom she sadly said, "I wish I had Nora here to help me!"
 The travel home went smoothly.
Lily was pretty energetic most of the way but happy and we survived.
And Isaac got a little nap in.
Sure love these kids and glad we got to make some memories on a wonderful family vacation!

Here's more posts with Lexie's awesome pictures here and here of the good times we had.
