Cutting Christmas Trees!

On Saturday after Thanksgiving we made it up to cut down our Christmas tree!  It's always so pretty up in the mountains and smells amazing!  And it definitely is a good work out hauling kids through snow!

We found a good one!
And Owen cut it down!

Cathrine always swoops in and carries one of my kids!
Isaac loves his Aunt Cat!

Ava & Madalyn were troopers hikeing through the snow.  On the way back to the cars we got off the path and it was hard but they army crawled and made it!
Madalyn brought down her own little Christmas tree :).
Hot cocoa!
Cute Emi!
Becca & Johnny.
I realize the tree is like 3 inches wide but I still love it when Matt lifts like it's a twig :).
Cute cousins!
Sweet Lucy-girl & Chad.
Kids in bib snow pants are so cute!
When we got back home the kids decorated gingerbread houses!

Setting up a train at Grandma's house was a little tricky with all the kids.
We watched this cool show from National Geographic of a guy we grew up next too.
Sleeping under the tree!
I got our Christmas tree set up with lights on it before December even started!  I think that may have been the first time I've done that. Owen cracks me up- he loves to sleep under the tree but when he's ready to sleep wants to turn the lights off which makes me laugh.  But this year they figured they could unplug the lights from most of the tree and it's not to bright.   We love the holidays!

Grateful Tree-

Before I'm done about Thanksgiving I have to post our thankful tree.
I am so thankful for these little munchkins. I love them so much!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving! Such a glorious holiday.
I practiced making some pies and they were so pretty!  My favorite pie definitely is a round one.
 Apple, Pecan, & Lemon Meringue.
I was getting ready and couldn't find Lily after and looked all over the house and then checked her room and found her snuggled up with her blankies getting a good nap! Smart girl.
Matt cooked 2 yummy turkeys!

 Fun to spend time together!
Lots & lots of potatoes!

 Yummy!
Our pie selection was amazing!  We were very spoiled!
Ava gave it 2 thumbs up!
Isaac got books with Aunt Elaine.
And Lily got jammied with Mabel & books!  One of the books was a singing book and I think Lily will not want to listen to me sing again now that she knows what beautiful singing sounds like :).

More November-

It snowed!  We still had our pumpkins on our front porch that inspired a snow pumpkin.
What goober heads-  I love Cora's face in this one!
Isaac is a good helper, his bookshelf was totally clean.
Sugar & spice and all things nice.
Owen & Ava made a whole list of different clubs that we got to sign up for.  Loom Club was quite popular and Matthew made his first bracelet.
Ava earned a fish in Spanish class and was quite proud.  She named it Rockstar.  The next morning she came up and said, "Darn it, I woke up to late, I wanted to see it sleeping."  So then after a little research we learned that fish actually do sleep and go lower in the tank and don't move as much and can change color.
 Handstands are still going strong.
 Isaac & his flexibility skills.
Isaac went to an Aggie Basketball game with Matt.  He was so excited and acted just like a big kid as they left.  Afterwards he loved telling people "Ball Game, Dad."
