Also in March- Cabin

In March, we also got to spend a weekend at my sis-in-law, Emily Ann's, Grandparents cabin. It is a magical place and we all had a blast.

Owen, Ava & Emily- at the half way mark of where we turned around I was holding nice and tight to Ava's boot thinking that would keep her secure when all of the sudden she fell off of my shoulders. I was still holding tightly to her boot though. Luckily we had just gotten off the plowed road and she landed on a little bit softer, deeper snow :).

March in a Post-

In March we...

Enjoyed some warmer weather at the zoo & playground.

Ava often sleeps with her arms up around her face, sleeping babes are so sweet.

Owen lined up his cars for a car game he made up and Aunt JoAnna was lucky she stopped by on her way home from school to play it.

This girl loves to be outside! Got ready for the cold all by herself.

This picture goes along with another that I didn't think was appropriate for the blogging world of Ava's nap one day. So while Matt was on his last trip to China for work Ava got a nasty cold and ear infections that made it hard for her to sleep and on this particular day she really needed a nap and I really needed her to have a nap to give me a break from a tired, cranky little girl. When I layed her down I made the mistake of giving her this book. She started ripping up the pages when I left. I could hear her ripping it up over the monitor and had the dilemma of saving the book or just staying upstairs to enjoy some alone time. For a while I chose the alone time but soon the ripping noise got to me and I went down & saved about half of the book and left her to hopefully fall asleep. I checked on her awhile later to find that she had taken off all of her clothes and her diaper and was sleeping snuggled up to her blanket. She did eventually make it to sleep and got a much needed nap and I got the much needed alone time. Funny girl.

To celebrate Matt coming home from his China trip this Sunday, Ava wore this pretty Chinese dress. She loved it and calls it her China princess dress.

St. Patrick's Day- A fun day for a little boy who's favorite color is green.

Also in February- San Francisco

So for a few holidays combined Matt surprised me with tickets for a weekend trip to San Francisco- just the two of us. We got the coolest list of awesome things we could do, see & eat from a local San Franciscan.

Eating what the local told us was the best burrito in San Fransisco at La Taqueria. It was huge.

That night we went to the Oakland Temple. I love the temple grounds of that temple with the palm trees, it's just so pretty.
And it was pretty awesome that we had such a detective of a temple worker at the door to help figure out the barcode number on Matt's recommend since it had just gone through the wash a few days before.

Eating at a little French/Italian restaurant. It was very small and cozy inside. I wasn't feeling very good that night but the fresh mozzarella-tomato-basil-olive oil salad & roasted zucchini were really good.

Matt loved getting his picture taken at this little pastry shop just down from where we had dinner. The pastries really weren't that good but it was still fun.

This was the cool view out our window. Cities are crazy places. It was fun to experience.

We went to an awesome Farmer's Market where we saw so much fresh yummy food. Eating a Vietnamese soup at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market.

Ghirardelli Square.Yummy banana split- the fudge sauce they have is something else, it was so yummy.

We got to see Wicked while we were there too. It was fun. Although that's what we planned our trip to San Francisco for, it definitely wasn't the highlight in my book of all the other fun things we got to do.

We had breakfast at this fun old restaurant called Sears where I got Swedish Pancakes that were actually like 16 tiny pancakes.

Before we came home we drove to Crissy Field where we got to walk along the beach then we headed to the airport driving a different direction so we could see the Pacific Ocean. We saw some big waves, it was really beautiful. I didn't get pictures but also during our trip we drove down Lombard Street and up into the richest neighborhood in SF.

Found out our little baby coming in June is a boy!

Got to try out the "new" bike we found at the DI for $4.00.

Hooray for warmer weather after the cold winter!

Got to go swimming a couple of times.
