Christmas Eve-

Christmas Eve!  It finally came!
Isaac & Lily were so helpful making messes.
Later that afternoon we went to my mom's for a Christmas Eve dinner.  Isaac got a little nap in.
Then we had a talent show.
With so many missing teeth Ava sang "All I want for Christmas" and Owen sang "Rudolph"  I think.
Then all the kids joined in for the "12 Days of Christmas" with Grandma.
We were lucky to hear Chad play his guitar & sing.
Then we did the nativity.
Cute little Angel & Shepherd.

Ava took her role of Mary very seriously again and tried to think about Mary.
Isaac made a cute little shepherd boy.

Then we came home and opened Christmas jammies!

Cute nightgowns for the girls &
Superheroes for the boys.
This was the best we got with all 4 in the picture :).
Merry Christmas Eve!!!!

Ava's Birthday!

Ava turned 7!
Her actual birthday was planned out with a school performance so she got to party the day before by having her friend over to play
and then she got to go on a date with Aunt Cathrine that she loves so much!
On her birthday morning opening presents.
 And for breakfast- crepes.
I got to see her at school and brought dum-dum suckers for her class.

After school her class performed a Christmas program at an assisted living home.  They sang, played songs with bells, and recited a poem they had memorized about Christmas.  It was a neat opportunity.   I would love to know how cool Ava thinks she looks while playing in this song.  Her tapping foot cracks me up.  I know she loved it.

After that the birthday girl picked Texas Roadhouse for dinner so she could sit on this saddle.  Pretty cute.
Then we came home and had family over to celebrate Ava!
Near the end of this video you can see her cute toothless giggle and Isaac trying as hard as he can to blow out her candles.

Then she got spoiled with presents.  Lucky girl.

We love our sweetheart Ava!  She's a ball of get-it-done-now energy.  She's a sweet sister and makes our house so much more fun!  She has a big heart and is good to share her things and loves to visit our older neighbor around the corner and take him treats.  We love our Ava girl.  Happy Birthday Ava!

First half of December-

Isaac got his 3rd set of ear tubes at the beginning of December.  Hooray for hearing again!

More 'dude' hair!
Sweet Lily.

Isaac doesn't stay made for long...
My mom made & hand-dipped over 200 pounds of chocolates this year!
The kids got to visit this awesome Santa!

Sleeping under the Christmas tree!
Isaac actually made it sleeping under the tree with Ava & Owen this year!  Usually he is to excited to sleep and ends up in his bed but he loved it this year. And Lily gave it a good try a couple of times but liked to party to much.
Ava joined the jingle bell club in her class at school because she can tie her own shoes, zip up her own coat and put on her own gloves.  She was so proud!
We were grateful for some warm weather so we could finally get our leaves raked up.  Owen & Ava were awesome helpers.
Matt had another trip to China the beginning of December.  One of the nights he was gone we watched the Muppet Christmas Carol and loved it.  I totally cried on the part when the ghost of Christmas future shows Tiny Tim gone and Ava said, "why? it's not even real."  Luckily Owen defended me and told her, "cause it's sad Ava."

Isaac was pretty mad I wasn't holding on at first but he figured out the balance bike!

Owen got a google account at school and was super into making 'docs.'  Every spare second he had he was creating and sharing his docs.

Isaac's mohawk is still going strong.

While Matt was in China I got a little "funned out" a few times between the day to day stuff, some sickness, Lily figuring out how to get out of her crib, and tired ears from trying to listen to everyone talk at once and this happened...

I was helping Owen put on his ice skates for a lesson when Ava ran over and told me Isaac & Lily went into the Men's bathroom.  I finished helping Owen then went over and called to make sure no one else was in there and discovered Isaac had taken off all of his clothes so he go potty and Lily was on the floor peeking out to see me.  Gross.  So while Isaac was going pee Lily grabbed a plastic thing out of the bottom of the urinals that totally grossed me out so I stopped helping Isaac and grabbed Lily to wash her hands when of course, a gentleman walked in and we enjoyed that awkward moment when he wonders what he should do.  So I grabbed both kids and Isaac's clothes and apologized to the man and ran to the girls bathroom where I got Isaac dressed and we all washed our hands for a long time.

When Ava ran over at the beginning to tell me Isaac & Lily were in the bathroom I had this little scene from Emperor's New Groove run through my mind-  Bring it on  Booyahahaha!

But wait, there's more... While I was trying to watch Owen in his lessons and keep Isaac & Lily from running out into the rink I decided that although it's not super safe, for my sanity they could play under the bleachers. Isaac's not usually super adventurous but he climbed up these diagonal bar things then lost his footing so he was hanging about 10 feet up when Ava yelled for me and I was able to get to him just in time.  Luckily, we all lived to tell the tale.

And then Daddy came home the next day!  And all was right with the world again!

Salt Lake Trip-

In October Matthew took a trip to China and was coming back on Saturday.  It was Fall Break for Owen & Ava and we were needing some fun to help pass the time so we went to Salt Lake and stayed the night in a hotel.  We stayed at one near the airport and picked Matthew on Saturday when he got back.  Cathrine came to party with us!
Eating pizza in the hotel! (I love Lily's cheeser)
Then we got the pool all to ourselves!
After swimming we watched the Parent Trap all snuggled in our beds.
Continental Breakfasts are the coolest.
Then we went swimming again and had the pool all to ourselves again!

We picked up Matthew & went to the zoo!
Hooray for having Daddy back!

And we were lucky to have Pam and her two kiddos meet us at the zoo to party up their fall break too.

Then afterwards we ate at a yummy BBQ place and I learned Lily has some serious toothpick skills.
