Christmas in a Nutshell-

Sleeping under the Tree-
Owen & Ava got to sleep under the tree a few times. When they were ready to sleep
they always unplugged the tree cause it was to bright and just slept under a dark tree.
The Book Find-
It is so fun to see my kids excitement for the tradition of the book find!

Christmas program-
Owen's preschool. It was cute.

Christmas Eve!
Party at Phillips'

Owen & Ava both slept on the floor in Ava's room waiting for Christmas morning.

Christmas Morning-

The day after Christmas, just before we were leaving to go somewhere Owen sat staring at his train table that he had just received the day before. With a big sigh he said, "I sure don't get to play with my train table much these days."
The kids got some fun stuff but this $10 tent from Ikea was probably the biggest hit of Christmas morning.

Happy Birthday Little Girlie-

Ava had a birthday and turned 3 years old! She was pretty excited for her big day. That morning she got to open up presents from Matt & I and a present from Owen. A couple weeks ago I overheard Owen talking to Ava about her birthday. He was asking her if she wanted him to get her some pink & purple legos. And thanks to a discounted set at Kohl's, she got them.

Ava's favorite breakfast right now is crepes. So we decorated them up cake style with candles.

Lunch with Dad. Fun stuff.

The next day we had a birthday party. The only request Ava had for her party was a purple cake. She was so excited to have people come for her party.

She was a happy birthday girl. It's great to have such a spunky sweetheart in our family.

Isaac- 6 months old

We've been trying to chub up our little guy cause he's still so little. But he's had a couple colds in a row that have lasted a long time and it's been hard to eat. I took him to the doctor yesterday and he now weighs 11 pounds 11 oz! Still very little but exciting that he's gaining better again. Isaac also started rolling and is getting stronger everyday. Even though Isaac has been sick he has still been very smiley. I am excited to see how much happier he is once he recovers from his cold, ear infections & a yeast infection (never knew that boys could get this too but they can and it's not pretty) and feel a lot better.

Just can't keep all this happiness in

Isaac is 5 months old today. He loves to smile and is such a happy little baby. At his 4 month check up he wasn't gaining enough weight to follow his growth curve weighing only 9 pounds 7 oz so we've been working to chub him up a bit. A couple weeks later we weighed him again and he's doing better. He is getting stronger and does good doing his tummy time. He has started rolling to his sides and can roll from his tummy to his back if gravity gets him just right but isn't doing it consistently on his own. We've also been working to get rid of a flat spot on the back of his head through positioning and exercises and his head is getting nice and round again. He is often holding his two little hands tightly together like in the last picture and it's just like my sister Becca said he's saying look how sweet and cute I am. We love our little Isaac!

Halloween-

Owen started preschool a couple weeks ago, which he loves & I love and everyone is so happy about. At his preschool they had a Halloween parade & little program & the kids got to dress up. Owen wanted to mix a few different costumes together so he was a race car driver with a cowboy hat & power ranger gloves.

Halloween-
Carving Pumpkins-
Owen designed his on his own. It was awesome.
Notice Ava's face- I told we would paint her face that night for Halloween so she decided to just take care of that on her own.

Halloween Night-
Ava wanted to be a purple butterfly. We went looking for a costume and found some cute ones but Ava was set on being a purple butterfly which luckily we found a pink & purple one. It was fun she knew exactly what she wanted.
Isaac was a cute little robot.
Excited for the big night.

Ava totally got into the trick-or-treating this year and LOVED it. She has a big sweet tooth so it was pretty much a great night. The next day she asked me if we could go trick-or- treating again.

We tried a different method this time with candy- instead of regulating what & when they ate their candy they pretty much could do whatever they wanted. Luckily we really didn't get that much candy so that could work. Ava loved it. There was a few highs & lows on Sunday but now she's done with her candy and we don't have to worry about it. Owen still has some and lucky for Ava has been nice to share.

Welcome baby Emi-

Welcome baby Emi-
Cora & Isaac are glad you finally made it.

Can't wait to get all these cousins around the same age together- go 2010!
